Sunday September 9th it was showtime again at the iconic Roosevelt Hotel, located at 45 East 45th Street, in the heart of midtown Manhattan near landmarks such as The Empire State Building, 5th Avenue and Broadway. Multiple up-and-coming, independent and established designers showcased their Spring 2019 collections for the final day of The Society Fashion Week. The full event took place from September 6th to 9th, and it coincided with the broader New York Fashion Week Spring Summer 2019.

This venue with great ‘grandeur’ and beautiful interiors makes you feel like being right on the set of a classic ‘jazz age’ movie. In the packed Grand Ballroom (with a 27 foot high ceiling, ornaments and candles) the flocking audience eagerly awaited the many designers showcasing their collections. The photographers in the press pit were more than ready to capture it all. Quite a scenery at this boutique spot! Bravo to all designers and models. Herewith highlighting some of them.

Elisabeth Cordelia presented her lovely classic children’s wear. Soft tone colors and lots of lace fabrics. Eye catcher was the blue & silver gown. Every girl would feel a true princess wearing it! Yikstyles presented a collection that can be described as feminine urban chic. One of the highlights was the full length summer dress with black & white flower print. Look at the batwing sleeves, slay it!

Camellia Couture presented a collection with lots of soft tone colors, bows and floral prints. Very beautiful was the pink gown in satin with laces and open back. Destiny Howard showcased contemporary stylish designs. Feeling ‘summer vibes’ with the classy yet simple open shoulder white tunic dress. A collection with the message to embrace yourself! De Lauriane collection; colorful and wearable children’s clothing. Lots of nice and quirky outfits like the black & blue dress. Mixed and matched fabrics and prints; own your style!

Original Crackage presented a cool collection with lines, stripes, contrasting colors and floral prints. Urban trendsetting clothing. George+Ginger presented her everyday-wear collection. Flattering classy designs, smooth fabrics and layered (lace) pieces. The yellow floral dress was one of the many pretty outfits.

His designs can be described as classic, modern and innovative! He mixed and matched fabrics like mink fur, denim and neoprene what resulted in a powerful and distinctive collection. This creative designer successfully mashed up lots of unexpected elements together, such as denim cotton coats, trench coats, bomber jackets and surf swim suits.

The red, blue and yellow neoprene vest was certainly an eye-catcher. For this collection Hunte had, among others, teamed up with Teva (footwear). Wear for the sportive and adventures man. Other cool and ready to go pieces were the camouflage jackets and extra layered bomber jackets. Surprisingly nice was the trench coat with blue and orange edges. And have look at the plastic sleeves! Fashion Palette Australian Swim Resort Spring Summer 2017

"Summer Romance" collection for the Fashion Palette Australian Swim
Resort Spring Summer 2017 fashion show on September 8, 2016.

The Australian fashion production company Fashion Palette, held their Fashion Palette New York Fashion Week Spring Summer 2017 runway shows, this past September, during New York Fashion Week Spring 2017. Talented fashion designers from Australia, as well as expert makeup artists led by Alison Jade, and hair care specialists from Davroe flew to New York City to showcase their latest fashion pieces and beauty styling. The fashion show was divided into two series of runway shows. There was a collection of Australian swim/resort runway shows in the early afternoon; and women's evening and ready-to-wear at night. This article focuses on the nine swim/resort Spring Summer 2017 collections from the early afternoon.

In the resort category, the Sabo Luxe collection by Thessy Kouzoukas and Yiota Karalouka was soft and sensual. Deep v-necks, exposed shoulders and hem lines way above the knees were the looks presented. The BOSSA collection had earth tones approaching copper and blue. Long skirts, dresses and sleeves moved with fluidity. Sara Bailes presented a more foot-on-the-ground approach with her attractive collection that would look pretty on various body types. Alphabe The Label by Brenda Chang and Cathy Karuga, featured pleats, lace and intricate detailing. Natalia Rolt's collection of all-white fabrics is unconventional and sexy. Every outfit is sure to turn heads on any yacht or cruise ship.

The swim outfits were definitely show stoppers. The Ark Swimwear bikinis have a harmonious cut to them that follows the shape of the body, rather than trying to shape it. Frankie Swimwear by Rebecca Klodinsky showcased pretty head-wraps, paired with smoking hot bikinis. Floral patterns and knitting made up the Ete Swimwear collection by Jessica Williamson. Some pieces almost blur the line between swimwear and lingerie. Electric pinks, blues and purples, pop in the Lil and Emm swimwear collection. The Linder Spring Summer 2017 menswear collection

Linder Spring Summer 2017 collection by Sam Linder and Kirk Millar. Photo: ©Shawn Punch 2016

Fashion designers Sam Linder and Kirk Millar held a runway show for their Linder Spring Summer 2017 menswear collection on July 11, during New York Fashion Week: Men's Spring Summer 2017. The fashion show was held at Dixon Place Theatre on 161A Chrystie Street. This collection is comprised of thirty outfits for men, plus four more outfits for women.

What is menswear? That is a question these designers asked, as well as many other designers who recently showed in New York, London, Paris and Milan. Linder and Millar decided to use "the most familiar pieces of the everyday wardrobe, and find ways to make them unfamiliar." For example, cardigans were cut up or warped, to produce rugged or whimsical silhouettes. The notion of revealing and concealing the body, which is most typically used in womenswear, is employed here for men.

Asymmetry is another major feature. Sleeve sizes in a shirts, a tank top and even a maxi dress are not equal. This off-balance look is intentional, effective and really cool. Confidence and self-assurdness is almost required to wear this collection. When asked where does he envision men wearing these garments, Mr. Linder states, "I think it's pretty expressive. I imagine a lot of creative people wearing it...people who have the freedom to dress however they want for any occasion basically."

Basic colors such as cream, black, white and denim helps add masculinity to the looks. Conversely, some of the outfits were accessorized with handbags that are orange, white, black/blue and black/orange. Interestingly a black kimono tee and black knit wrap tank were purposely worn backwards for show. There's something for everyone here.
